Domino and Siouxsie

Domino and Siouxsie have been looking for forever homes for a long time but haven't had any interest. So, we decided it'd be appropriate to write their blog post to help find them a home they can call their own - no animal wants to spend their whole life within a rescue.

Arrival:

Domino and Siouxsie's owner contacted us on social media as they could no longer look after their aggressive family pets. They'd been purchased from a pet shop, the store workers told them the hamsters were both cohabiting males. We agreed to take them on given the outstanding behavioral issues.
Once we got them home, we discovered the hamsters were actually opposite genders. The staff at the pet shop had missexed the hamsters. We immediately separated them, and the female, Siouxsie, was monitored in case she was pregnant.
We estimated them to be under 6 months old upon arrival.

Siouxsie:

Both hamsters arrived on 9th March 2019, and as we've already mentioned, were missexed. For educational purposes, we will enclose labeled diagrams comparing the genitalia of each hamster, highlighting the differences.

Male hamsters will have obvious distance between their anus and their penis, some males may have obvious testicles, too. Females, on the other hand, have near to no gap between their anus and vagina.

Siouxsie was monitored throughout a typical hybrid dwarf hamster gestation period - around 21 days - and, fortunately, wasn't pregnant.

It's now the 17th of August, and both Siouxsie and Domino have been here nearly 6 months - roughly a quatre of their average lifespan!
Siouxsie is a very tame and tiny dwarf who always comes out to greet us.
If you could offer Siouxsie a home, get in touch via email or social media!

Domino:

Domino was monitored incase any illnesses had been missed. Thankfully, he was, and is entirely healthy! Domino can be nervous at first, but once he feels confident he's safe, he soon calms down. Ideally, he would require a confident owner because of his skittish personality.
If you could offer Domino a home, get in touch via social media or email.
