Millie - Full Write-Up

Image
Millie is a rat we hold close to our heart. Sometimes, as an owner, you can do everything right, and it still isn't enough. Arrival: Millie's owner contacted us as they wanted an experienced owner for their soon-to-be lone rat. Her companion was battling chronic health issues and wasn't going to be around too much longer. We agreed to accommodate Millie whenever the time came. When the day arrived, Millie had recently developed a mammary tumour (we suspected a fibroadenoma), and we mutually agreed to have it surgically removed. Millie was a friendly 1.6-year-old - 2-year-old rat. Meet Wilfred and Wolfgang

Image
We rescued Wilfred as a companion for Walter. Unfortunately, Walter developed acute kidney failure and very suddenly passed away.  Wilfred was very depressed. We adopted Wolfgang from Tiny Paws MCR to keep Wilfred company. As a result, he was then housed outside the front of their house (despite living in an indoor-cage) until someone collected him. Fortunately, that someone was us. After we arrived home, we thoroughly checked Wilfred over. We estimated him to be approximately 4-6 months old and, apart from some matted fur, he was in good health  Wilfy is a grumpy boar with a huge personality - with bundles of cheekiness, too. Wolfgang: Tiny Paws MCR appea...

Shmi - Full Write-up

Image
Shmi was very popular amongst some of our followers. She had a larger than life personality, and there are many names we can think of to describe her that wouldn't be appropriate for this blog-setting. Despite her troublesome nature, we loved her a lot. You can follow us on social media: Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter You can donate to us via our Paypal and our Amazon Wishlist For other enquiries, please email: bacchusresidents@outlook.com Arrival: We'd recently rescued a Mother and Daughter duo of Manx (tailless) rats from Hamster Haven (rescue) - Leia (daughter) and Padme (mother).  Tailless rats are a controversial topic amongst rat experts. In our opinion, tailless rats  shouldn't   be  deliberately produced. Due to their deformities, tailless rats usually require adapted-housing. Padme was much older than Leia. We knew Leia would need companionship in the future when her mother passed away. We searched for does in need of a home.  We...
