Herbert and Valorie

Today's post is introducing Herbert and Valorie. Although they came from separate circumstances, we got them both on the same day.

Herbert:

Herbert had been abandoned at a local pet shop. We assume his owners no longer wanted him due to Roborovski's being hard to handle. Herbert originally had a typical robo-attitude - quick but harmless.

We estimated him to be around 4-6 months old due to his tiny size (19g).

Passing:

Unfortunately, Herbert unexpectedly passed away only 3 months after arriving. The nature of his death remained unclear as there were no outward symptoms. We would suspect he had an internal illness that he was genetically predisposed to given his premature death.

Herbert passed away on the 21st of August 2019.

Valorie:

Valorie was an unwanted pet, probably for the same reason(s) as Herbert. Roborovski's are widely considered as a 'look-but-don't-touch' kind of pet. Usually, however, robos rarely bite when handled, some just don't like it - Valorie is one of those robos. She can scream when she's particularly grumpy.

We estimated Valorie to be approximately 6-8 months old when she arrived.

Valorie continues to do well and we've adopted her ourselves - we hadn't had a robo for ourselves for some time.
