Pam, Patsy, and Pierre

Eurasian harvest mice may be the most adorable animal on this earth. We got a great opportunity to expand our experience and knowledge of Eurasian harvest mice after a biologist was unable to release 3 harvest mice due to weather conditions. The biologist was also moving away, so they were searching for a space with individuals who can care for Eurasian harvest mice - that happened to be us.

Pam and Patsy are two friendly sisters. It's generally not advised to handle harvest mice as you can easily injure them due to their tiny size, however, we managed to snap some pictures when we were moving them to their new enclosures.
Pam had lost the end of her tail, so she isn't able to use her prehensile tail as well as her sister.

Pierre now cohabits with a Eurasian field mouse who, similar to himself, couldn't be released due to severe weather conditions. We're unable to handle the field mouse and it causes him a lot of stress, despite being raised in captivity.

DO NOT KEEP WILD ANIMALS AS PETS. Rarely, an animal cannot be rehabilitated and released back into their natural habitat. If you come across a wild mouse, please contact a wildlife rehabilitator.
