17 Rabbits Rescued: Sylvester/Neeson's Happy Ending
Ivy Dene Rabbit Rescue, alongside many other rescues, saved 17 rabbits that had been exploited for breeding at shows whilst being neglected and deprived of their 5 freedoms behind the scenes. Unfortunately, Some 'stock' weren't good enough to show. They were going to be shot if they weren't collected.
We only helped with one rabbit out of all that were rescued. Neeson was originally housed in rescue at Clement Rabbit Rescue but was later transferred to us. We renamed him, Sylvester.
Although Sylvester was transferred to us, the amazing Clement Rabbit Rescue still rehabbed Sylvester and ensured he was neutered and fully vaccinated. All we had to do was find him the perfect home.
Sylvester was a gorgeous young and tame German lop. He got on great with other rabbits. We were confident we would be able to find him a home swiftly.
Sure enough, we had an enquiry. After vetting the home, we were hopeful we found Sylvester the happy ending he deserved. He was due to meet a new male companion called Boo. Boo's owner asked if we could bond them here at our facility. We were more than happy to oblige.
The day came for Sylvester to meet his BFF! The bonding process was typical and there were no red flags throughout.

After about a week, it was time for the final bonding phase: going home! Sylvester was adopted and renamed Silva. After a couple of days settling in, the pair couldn't be happier. To top it all off, he's made his new family very happy too. We're so beyond pleased to think that Silva is one of the lucky ones who gets to be rescued and goes on to have a happy ending.
