R.I.P Rupert

Hello again,

Today I wanted to write about losing Rupert.
Losing Rupert was really hard, he was my first ever resident I had, along with his cage mate at the time, Roland.

Rupert and Roland previously lived harmoniously together in their tank. They adored digging together and we always used to enjoy watching what tunnels they would create in their tank. They were almost never apart.

One day we came down and saw drops of blood on the glass, we panicked and went straight into their tank to find out who was injured, It was Roland. Rupert had attacked him. We were completely shocked, we thought they got on so well up until that point.
We separated them immediately, and nursed all of Roland's cuts with antiseptic cream. Thankfully, Rupert didn't have a scratch on him.
Within a few days, both of them had bounced back, it was as if it never happened. All of Roland's cuts had healed perfectly too.

Rupert was previously very aggressive and very difficult to handle, however towards the end he was very tame, and absolutely adored play time.
He used to love running around on your lap and climbing all over you.
He adapted really well to living alone, in fact I think he loved having everything to himself, it definitely brought out his playful personality as well.

Rupert sadly, unexpectedly passed away a couple of months later on the 4th of April 2017.
He didn't battle any illnesses prior to his passing. It completely shocked us all.

He is deeply missed by us all.

Good night, Rupert.
