Speedy
Hello Readers,
Today we wanted to share that Speedy has taken ill.
Speedy was taken to the vets a few days ago after her eyes began to bulge, we likely thought it was glaucoma, which needs medication for the pain.
When the vet examined her, they confirmed that she did in fact have glaucoma, and with it being in both eyes it was likely that there was either a brain tumour or fluid around the brain, both would be terminal in Speedy's case.
She was given some painkillers and we were told to prepare for the inevitable.
Every morning since, Speedy has been taking her pain killers - she's very good at it! She has also been enjoying some of her favourite treats, including Red Leicester cheese, that is her favourite.
Speedy is the first hamster we ever owned, she's around 3 years old now, which is an incredible age. We all know Speedy has had an extremely long and extremely happy life. We wanted to make the remaining time she has left, however long that may be, the best yet.
