Some Happy Endings

Hello again,

In my last post I promised to post something a little more cheerful, after breaking so much sad news.
I'd like to fill you in on a few more health issues that some of our residents had to deal with, but this time with a lot of happy endings.

So, the first resident I'd like to update you all on is Vince, and his eye troubles. Vince went to the vets late in May after he had been suffering with an irritated eye. After a quick all over health examination, the vet found nothing that could have been contributing to his eye, meaning that it was just a simple eye infection, not a symptom of something else.
Vince was trialed on some maxitrol eye drops and thankfully within days his eye cleared up! After a quite a while, his eye infection returned. The vets did the same procedure and it's likely to be just a reoccurring thing. Vince always has an emergency set of eye drops as it is always likely to return.
His eye infection has come back a further 2 times, but always clears up as soon as he has his drops. Vince is extremely good at receiving his eye drops, in fact I don't think he cares at all. He has had no further health complications or signs of any illnesses.
Secondly, I would like to fill you in on Vince's cage mate - Greg.
Greg has had some very minor complications with his breathing, he seemed to be quite nasally. We decided to take Greg to the vets to have his breathing checked out. Thankfully, Greg's lungs didn't sound too bad, but the vet could see he sounded quite nasally. The vets gave Greg an injection to help clear his breathing. Greg continued to have some-what intermittent injections to help with his breathing. They really help clear him up, but they do eventually wear off. Greg has had no further health issues.
Finally, we would like to update you on Zaina. We discovered she had a wet patch around her genitals in late August, so we decided to take her to the vets. She didn't seem to have any difficulty passing urine. Nonetheless, a wet patch isn't normal and shouldn't be ignored.
Zaina wasn't a good patient, I have to be honest. She was very tricky to examine, the last place she wanted to be was at the vets. Fortunately, our vet was able to diagnose Zaina with a suspected UTI, likely to be cystitis. Zaina was sent home with some antibiotics. She did manage to finish the course, though it wasn't easy to get her to take them! Luckily, Zaina didn't need any further treatment as the antibiotics got rid of her UTI. Her wet patch has dried up and her urine stains have pretty much gone now. Zaina has also had no further health complications, and she's also forgiven us for making her take medicine.
